OUR WALLS AND A ROOF
A family of immigrants discover a shack with the ability to teleport anywhere...
WHO ARE WE
We are a wild bunch of Honours film students based in Cape Town, South Africa. We have all worked together for the past three years and have made two films as a crew. We always endeavor to tackle pertinent social issues through surreal, imaginative and engaging films and we are bent on capturing audiences through wonder, awe and amazement. We are dedicated, always keen to take risks and are completely in love with film making.

REASON BEHIND OUR FILM
Our last two films took a unique look at issues of conservation and poaching. Now we intend to explore immigration. Fantasy has always been a tool that allows audiences to experience worlds and characters in films from a safe distance, vicariously.
Our story aims to lure our audience into a seemingly distant and fantastical world of opportunity and wonder. Opening with comedy and lightheartedness that grants them a false sense of security. This is until reality strikes for both the audience and our characters a cruel, harsh and unforgiving reality, which is the truth that must be explored.
"To me the shack is an escape, what we wish we had. But in the real world, there is no shack, no space and no ease of travel. For to get to the "green place", where water flows, taps run, electricity works, they all traveled knowing there was a country burning behind them, a river they must cross and darkness in the future ahead" - Our Director Naishe Nyamubaya
The title of our story alludes to the most basic human needs. Refuge, shelter... a home. Because sometimes all one needs, is four walls and a roof.
